Milagro Vineyard Petite Sirah awarded gold and silver medals

We are happy and blessed to announce that our 2010 Petite Sirah won the 2013 Critics Challenge Gold award.

Our 2010 Petite Sirah comes from another cool vintage which allowed the grapes to achieve great balance. The vintage shows beautiful fruit aromas of ripe plum, blackberry and black currant. Hints of spice and vanilla compliment the rich red fruit. Dark purple color makes this a gorgeous wine. Aged in American Oak for 20 months. 100% Petite Sirah.

Other awards received in 2012 for past year harvests:
Milagro Vineyard's 2008 Petite Sirah was awarded Best in Class (Best Petite Sirah) at the 2012 Sommelier Challenge and also awarded a Gold Medal at the 2012 International Women's Wine Competition.

Milagro Vineyard's 2009 Petite Sirah takes silver medal in its category at the 2012 Riverside International Wine Competition ("Awarded to a wine showing beautiful balance and excellence: an extremely well made wine.");

Visit the Critics Challenge website at http://www.criticschallenge.com/results.htm for more information. Please note we can only sell and ship within California. You can purchase our wine by sending an email to cruzcj@earthlink.net, Attention: Cathy Rudolph.

Milagro Vineyard 2009 Petite Sirah News

Milagro Vineyard 2009 Petite Sirah takes silver medal in its category at the 2012 Riverside International Wine Competition: "Awarded to a wine showing beautiful balance and excellence: an extremely well made wine"

(For 30 years, the Riverside International Wine Competition has provided consumers and the wine industry with carefully considered results of a blind tasting by professional wine evaluators. A key benefit of this event is to recognize wines in a wide variety of styles, including wine regions that don't often get such recognition.)

Véraison

Véraison is a viticulture ( grape-growing) term meaning "the onset of ripening". It is originally French, but has been adopted into English use.

Crush Pad

Starting work on crush pad project in side yard.

New Winery

It took almost three months of intensive labor but with the help of our family friends Daniel and Emie, the garage was converted to a temperature controlled wine storage room. Next phase is to clean and seal the floor.

Wine Class Two

Wine Class Introduction by Sommelier John Rudolph

John has presented several wine tasting classes focused on European Wines and food and wine pairings earlier this year 2012. Participants also learned how to spit which no one wanted to do because they said the wine was too delicious to waste!

It's Official!

We received our licenses to make and sell wine in December 2011!

Milagro Urban Mule

Check out our Urban Mule for wine pours at wine festivals. This custom made cart (great for taking to farmers and flea markets) was built for us by our good friend Jerry Avery. If you would like one, let us know and we can pass your inquiry on to Jerry!
